On Oct 2, HUGE Co., Ltd. opened a new Spanish restaurant named La Pesquera -MARISQUERIA- at OOTEMORI in Tokyo.

The restaurant is located on the B2 floor of the facility and can seat up to 138 people. Has an area of 323 square meters. Having opened Spanish/Italian restaurant RIGOLETTO before, the company launched the new restaurant imaged after a marisqueria (seafood restaurant). The restaurant specializes in cuisine from Basque and Andalucía, using fresh seafood from the Sanriku and Shikoku regions. It offers delicacies using hands of turtles or kokotxa (fish jaw meat) as well as plancha (seafood roasted on a hot plate) of crabs, shrimps and shellfish and paella.

The restaurant serves modern Spanish food and casual tapas. Tomonori Sumi, who studied under Ferran Adria of El Bulli and works for DAZZLE Ginza (managed by HUGE Co., Ltd) serves as director.

“When we first got the offer, we weren’t sure about managing two restaurants in the same area, but after getting to know the details, I was like, why not? Don’t you think the restaurant turned out great?” says Yoshihiro Shinkawa, CEO of HUGE. At the opening reception, Mr. Shinkawa was seen attending to guests by serving them Txakoli wine from Basque in Bottega Veneta glasses. The wine is served at the restaurant at around 2,500 yen per bottle. Tapas including foie gras costs 500 yen a dish and is reasonably priced.
