The theme for Daimaru Matsuzakaya department store’s 2013 Valentine chocolates are “Chocolat de Fleur”. Limited edition chocolates only available at this store using floral designs and flavors inspired by flowers are sold and the sales target is to increase revenues by 5% compared to last year.

These chocolates are sold at the store’s official website from Jan. 11th and in stores from Jan. 16th. The “Sakura Panda Coffret” (22 for 2,100 yen / 9 for 735 yen), a collaborated chocolate by Daimaru Matsuzakaya and Morozoff, “Goncharoff Petit Dessert A La Mode” (10 for 2,520 yen / 2 with miniature bag for 630 yen) featuring a selection of chocolates in shapes of ice cream and donuts and other limited edition chocolates are lined up. Le Cacaotier, a chocolatier selected as best chocolatier two years running at “Salon du Chocolat”, the world’s largest chocolate festival held in Paris and La Maison Shirokane featuring chocolates with Akira Ebihara illustrations adorned will be lined up at this year’s valentine event for the first time.

At Daimaru Umeda department store, a tasting party named “Chocotto Chocolate Party” will be held on Jan. 29th, at Daimaru Shinsaibashi and Umeda stores (on Feb. 4th) and at Daimaru Kobe and Kyoto stores (on Feb. 5th) “Amatou Danshi (Sweets Loving Guys) Event” will be held and the hosts of the website “Amatou Danshi” will be invited. At Daimaru Tokyo (of Tokyo station) “Tokyo Station Gathering Event in Daimaru, Big Valentine Operation” will be held on Feb. 14th and other unique events are planned throughout Japan.
